Ogone

Expanded from European base to global presence in under three years

Tripled employee headcount

99% top-line revenue growth

Acquired by Ingenico

Ogone became a leader in payment processing in Europe by focusing on solving the complex problem of enabling online merchants to offer multiple forms of preferred payment methods across borders. The company sought to accelerate its growth through international expansion and acquisitions.

How Summit helped:

  • Strengthened the board and management team with industry veterans from Summit’s global network
  • Completed two key acquisitions that expanded Ogone’s geographic footprint and product offering
  • Optimized sales force by aligning incentives across the global organization and developing a consistent sales process
  • Managed the process with acquirer Ingenico, enabling management to stay focused on the business

Within three years, Ogone had expanded into Asia, Latin America, the Middle East and the United States, and had extended its product range. In 2013, Ingenico acquired Ogone for an enterprise value of €360 million. Today, Ogone operates as a subsidiary of Ingenico and Peter De Caluwe remains as CEO.
