Tushar Ramani, MDExecutive-in-Residence
As an Executive-in-Residence at Summit Partners, Dr. Ramani works alongside Summit’s Healthcare & Life Sciences team to identify new investment opportunities within growth-stage healthcare companies.
Dr. Ramani is a seasoned healthcare executive and entrepreneur with more than two decades of leadership and advisory experience in physician services, logistics and hospital services. Dr. Ramani cofounded Anesthetix – a provider of anesthesiology and pain management services – and served in all material management roles over the next 10 years, growing the business into a national provider of comprehensive solutions to hospitals and surgery centers across the United States. Summit Partners provided growth capital to Anesthetix in 2006 and in 2010, the company was acquired by TeamHealth – one of the largest suppliers of outsourced healthcare professional staffing in the United States. Dr. Ramani served as President and CEO of TeamHealth Anesthesia through 2013, overseeing a period of meaningful revenue growth and national expansion.
Most recently, Dr. Ramani has served as a consultant and director for numerous healthcare companies. He currently serves on the boards of Foundation Radiology Group – a national radiology services provider for integrated delivery networks, community hospitals and local radiologists – and Surgical Affiliates Management Group – a Summit-backed provider of general, orthopedic and trauma surgical hospitalist programs to acute-care hospitals.
Dr. Ramani holds a BS from Penn State University and an MD from Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University where he earned the LB Swisher Award in Anesthesiology. After an internship in internal medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey through Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, he completed his residency in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY.
