Bruce R. EvansManaging Director
Bruce joined Summit Partners in 1986 and focuses primarily on the technology sector.
Bruce has served as a board director for more than 30 companies, including 12 public companies. He is currently a director of Casa Systems, Masternaut and Multifonds (IGEFI Group). His previous directorships include FleetCor Technologies (NYSE: FLT), Hittite Microwave (NASDAQ: HITT, later acquired by Analog Devices), Hyperion Software (formerly IMRS, NASDAQ: HYSL, later acquired by Oracle), Jamba! AG (acquired by VeriSign), OPNET Technologies (NASDAQ: OPNT, later acquired by Riverbed Technology), optionsXpress (NASDAQ: OXPS, later acquired by Charles Schwab), Pediatrix Medical Group (NYSE: PDX; later renamed MEDNAX, NYSE: MD), Renal Treatment Centers (NYSE: RXT, later acquired by DaVita) and Unica Corporation (NASDAQ: UNCA, later acquired by IBM).
Prior to Summit, Bruce sold mainframe computers for IBM Corporation in Louisville, Kentucky. He received a BE in mechanical engineering and economics, magna cum laude, from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Bruce was named to the Forbes Midas List from 2006 to 2009, and was a director of the National Venture Capital Association and Chairman of the NVCA’s Growth Equity Group from 2009 to 2014. In addition, he is a member of the Vanderbilt University Board of Trust, the Chairman of Vanderbilt’s Investment Committee, a member of the Harvard Business School Board of Dean's Advisors and a trustee of The Roxbury Latin School.
